Coffee Brew Guide (5 minutes)
When it comes to making coffee the best way to brew it is the way that works best for you. Some people love strong coffee while others prefer a lighter taste. But what is the best way to brew coffee? There is no clear cut answer, but there are better coffee to water ratios than others.
In general the National Coffee Association recommends “one to two tablespoons of ground coffee for every six ounces of water.”
If you are looking for just a rough guideline of how much coffee you should have ground for your morning brew of drip coffee we recommend that ratio. If you don’t have a set water to coffee ratio that you use you may want to consider adopting one. It just makes it easier to create higher quality and consistent cups of coffee if you use consistentcy.
For french fress and pour over coffee the ratio we use is six tablespoons of ground coffee for every sixteen ounces of water. You can adjust this as needed for french press to make it stronger or weaker brew. For pour over we recommend keeping this ratio to maintain a good flavor.
The quality of water is also an important factor in the final taste. For more information on water we like this twitter thread:
